Makinde Critiques APC's Economic Policies Impacting Nigerians

Seyi Makinde, the Governor of Oyo State and presidential candidate of the Allied People’s Movement (APM), criticized the economic policies of the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration under President Bola Tinubu. He described the simultaneous removal of fuel subsidy and the floating of the naira as a significant hardship for Nigerians.

Speaking on Monday in Abeokuta, Ogun State, during the unveiling of APM's deputy governorship candidate, Deborah Akinlade, and other candidates for the 2027 elections, Makinde lamented that no country could endure such economic shocks without adequate support measures. He questioned the administration's economic performance, highlighting the rising cost of living and foreign exchange fluctuations.

Makinde emphasized the need for the APM to mobilize voters to "chase out" the APC-led government in the upcoming elections, asserting that the party is committed to alleviating the suffering of the masses and resetting Nigeria’s trajectory in terms of economy and security.
