Makinde Critiques Tinubu's Economic Policies, Backs APM

Oyo State Governor and presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Seyi Makinde, criticized President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms during an event in Abeokuta on Monday. He argued that the simultaneous removal of fuel subsidies and the floating of the naira has worsened economic hardships for Nigerians.

Makinde, represented by APM national leader Babatunde Tijani, stated that these policies, implemented without adequate relief measures, have significantly increased the cost of living. He questioned the Federal Government’s claims of economic improvement, citing rising fuel prices and persistent inflation.

Makinde expressed concern over the deteriorating security situation in Nigeria and emphasized the need for unity within the APM to mobilize for the 2027 elections. He asserted that the APM is committed to alleviating the suffering of the masses and providing a credible alternative for national leadership.
