Oyo Governor Makinde Launches 25-Year Tourism Master Plan

On Thursday, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde inaugurated a nine-member committee for the 25-year tourism master plan and an eight-member organizing committee for the 2026 International Tourism Summit at the Executive Council Chamber in Ibadan. The governor emphasized the state's valuable tourism assets and the need to create a conducive environment for investment and growth in the tourism sector.

The committee includes notable figures such as Wasiu Olatunbosun, the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, and Tilewa Folami, the Director General of the State Investment and Public-Private Partnership Agency. Makinde highlighted the importance of collaboration between the government and the private sector to ensure the tourism sector's development.

He stressed that the master plan should guide future investments and decisions for the next 25 years, aiming to position Oyo State as a competitive tourism destination with direct international flight access and improved hospitality standards.
