Malami Seeks ADC Governorship Nomination in Kebbi State

Abubakar Malami, the former Attorney General of the Federation, announced his decision to run for governor of Kebbi State under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the 2027 elections. In a statement issued on Friday in Birnin Kebbi, Malami expressed that Kebbi is facing a dire humanitarian crisis, with 67% of children aged six to 15 out of school and 88% living in multidimensional poverty.

He highlighted the alarming number of severely malnourished children and the poor state of healthcare, noting high maternal mortality rates and the impact of malaria on children and pregnant women in rural areas. Malami criticized the current state government for misplacing priorities and allowing insecurity to overwhelm communities, leading to constant attacks by bandits and the abandonment of farmland.

He emphasized the need for urgent action to restore security, improve public education, strengthen healthcare delivery, and revive agriculture, committing to sustainable development and effective leadership for a better future for Kebbi State.
