Malami Declares Candidacy for Kebbi Governorship Race

Abubakar Malami, the former Minister of Justice, has officially declared his intention to run for the governorship of Kebbi State under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the upcoming 2027 elections. Malami's announcement comes amid alarming statistics regarding the humanitarian situation in Kebbi, which is reportedly facing one of the worst crises in Nigeria.

He highlighted issues such as high maternal mortality rates, malnutrition among children, and a significant percentage of school-age children leaving school. Malami criticized the current administration for its failure to address these pressing issues, describing the political atmosphere in Kebbi as having dramatically changed.

He expressed concern over the disconnect between the government and the daily struggles of the people, emphasizing the need for a leadership that can effectively tackle the challenges of insecurity, economic stagnation, and public service collapse in the state.
