Malawi U20 Women's Team Prepares for Nigeria Clash

The Malawi U20 women's national team, under the guidance of head coach Maggi Chombo, has unveiled a 29-player squad in preparation for their crucial FIFA U20 Women's World Cup qualifying matches against Nigeria. The first leg of the fourth round tie is set for May 2, with the return fixture scheduled for May 9 at the Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe.

Chombo has retained a core group of 21 players who previously contributed to Malawi's third-round qualifying victory over Guinea-Bissau earlier this year. The team is expected to open camp on April 13 at Mpira Village in Blantyre to intensify preparations.

The winner of this two-leg tie will secure a place in the 2026 FIFA U20 Women's World Cup, which will take place in Poland from August 27 to September 26. The squad features a mix of domestic talent from clubs such as Ascent Soccer Academy, Kukoma Ntopwa Women, Silver Striker, and FCB Nyasa Big Bullet Women.
