Boulos Family and SCOA Threaten Lawsuit Over Defamation

The Boulos family, alongside SCOA Nigeria PLC, has threatened to initiate legal action in response to a viral video that they describe as defamatory and malicious. The video makes false claims regarding the family's involvement in fraudulent activities related to the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road project.

Their legal representative, Senior Advocate of Nigeria Kemi Pinheiro, issued a cease and desist notice demanding the immediate withdrawal of the video from social media platforms. The notice states that the allegations are entirely false and that the Boulos family and SCOA Nigeria PLC have no financial involvement in the project.

The legal team expressed concern over the widespread circulation of the content, which they argue could cause significant damage to their business reputation. They warned that failure to comply with their demands could lead to legal action, including a defamation suit seeking substantial damages and emotional distress.

The situation arises amid increased public scrutiny of major federal infrastructure projects in Nigeria.
