Kano Warns Against Supplement Theft Amid Rising Child Mortality Concerns

Kano State government has issued a warning against the theft and diversion of supplements meant for malnourished children, emphasizing the importance of proper distribution to combat child mortality. The State Commissioner of Health cautioned against misusing the Multiple Micronutrient Supplement (MMS) intervention, valued at billions, and vowed to prosecute offenders.

While the intervention aims to reduce malnutrition and anemia among pregnant women, civil society groups have raised concerns about the worsening rate of child mortality in the state.
