Maltina Teacher Awards 2026: N10m Prize and Honda Car

The Maltina Teacher of the Year Awards for 2026 will feature a grand prize of N10 million and a brand new Honda HR-V for the overall winner. The announcement was made by Felix Ohiwerei of the Nigerian Breweries' Felix Ohiwerei Education Trust Fund during the launch of the 12th edition of the awards in Lagos.

Entries for the competition are open until August 7, 2026, with the winner to be announced on October 30, 2026. Additional prizes include N30 million for infrastructure development at the winning teacher's school, N5 million for the first runner-up, and N3 million for the second runner-up.

State champions will receive N1 million each. The competition aims to recognize and reward teachers, with a total of 11,700 entries received since its inception.

The event also highlighted the need for increased investment in education and teacher recognition in Nigeria.
