Man allegedly stabs lover to death in Rivers

A man allegedly stabbed his lover to death in Rivers State on Sunday evening at Okereke Street in the Mile 2 Diobu area of Port Harcourt, causing panic in the neighborhood. According to residents, the man accused his female lover of cheating, leading to an altercation during which he allegedly used a knife to stab her to death.

The caretaker of the compound where the incident occurred quickly reported it to the Azikiwe Police Division in Mile 2 Diobu. The police have arrested the suspect and deposited the deceased's body in an undisclosed mortuary.

The National Coordinator of the Centre for Basic Rights Protection and Accountability campaign, Prince Wiro, called for a thorough and unbiased investigation to serve justice in the matter. He also advised young people to walk away from toxic relationships.

Police spokesperson SP Grace could not confirm the incident when contacted.
