Nazifi Charged with Misappropriating N34.8m for Spaghetti
Nazifi was arraigned on Wednesday before Justice Musa Karaye on a one-count charge of criminal misappropriation. The charge states that between September and October 2024, he allegedly misappropriated N34.8 million belonging to Fahad Balarabe Adaji.
The prosecution claims that the funds were transferred, at Nazifi's instruction, into the First Bank account of Muazu Abdullahi for the purchase of IRS spaghetti from BUA but were instead diverted for his personal use. This alleged offense violates Section 308 of the Kano State Penal Code Law and is punishable under Section 309 of the same law.
Nazifi pleaded not guilty when the charge was read to him. Following his plea, prosecution counsel Mustapha Maiwada requested the court to set a trial date and remand Nazifi in a correctional facility.
Justice Karaye ordered Nazifi to be remanded in a correctional center and adjourned the case until November 2, 2026, for further hearing.
