Musa Gidado Appeals for Help After Family Kidnapping

Musa Gidado, a 60-year-old petty trader from Abaonigbe Odilu community in Ilorin, Kwara State, has reported the kidnapping of his wife and three children. The incident occurred around 9:30pm last Sunday when gunmen invaded his community, shooting sporadically to intimidate residents.

The kidnappers forced open the door of Gidado's house and abducted his family. Gidado managed to escape through a shop attached to his house.

Initially, the kidnappers demanded a ransom of N500 million, but after negotiations, they reduced it to N100 million. Gidado has called on government officials at all levels to assist in rescuing his family.

Alh Jamiu Akanni, the head of Abaonigbe Odilu community, supported Gidado's account and urged the state government and security agencies to intensify their efforts in securing the victims' release. Efforts to obtain a response from the State Police Command were unsuccessful at the time of the report.
