Man Kills Brother Over Witchcraft Allegation in Rivers

In Rivers State, a man named Chiwendu was killed by his brother over allegations of witchcraft, which the suspect claimed hindered his business success. The incident took place around 4 PM on a Thursday in Umunwacha Village, located in the Ofeh Community of Omuma Local Government Area.

The deceased reportedly sustained multiple machete wounds. Following the incident, local authorities initiated a manhunt for the suspect, who fled the scene.

Mr. Chinonso Favour Chima, the youth president of Ofeh Community, confirmed the unfortunate situation, stating that he received a call about the incident shortly after it occurred.

The police, represented by CSP Grace Iring Koko, have taken note of the crime and are actively searching for the suspect. The police have urged the community to remain calm and not to panic, while also ensuring that the deceased's body is deposited at a mortuary.
