Father and son die in Plateau State tricycle fire crash

Father and son die in Plateau State tricycle fire crash

A tragic auto crash occurred at Sabon Barki in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State, resulting in the deaths of a man and his son. The incident took place around 4:20pm on Sunday when a commercial tricycle, known as Keke NAPEP, was struck by another vehicle while transporting a family returning from church service.

Eyewitness Kefas Gyang reported that the tricycle caught fire after the collision. The man's wife suffered a broken leg, and two of their children, along with the tricycle rider, were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Gyang, who arrived shortly after the incident, noted that the fire was too intense for bystanders to manage, preventing any rescue efforts. He also mentioned that the driver of the other vehicle fled the scene following the crash.

Attempts to contact Peter Longsan, the Plateau State Public Education Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps, for comments on the incident were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.
