Terrorists Abduct Students in Borno and Oyo School Attacks

On Friday, terrorists believed to be affiliated with Boko Haram and ISWAP invaded schools in Borno and Oyo States, leading to the abduction of several students and staff members. In Borno State, the attack occurred in Musa village, Askira Uba Local Government Area, where the Vice Principal, Muhammad Sabiru, confirmed the incident.

The assailants, riding motorcycles, stormed the primary and junior secondary schools, causing students to flee into the bush. The attack happened shortly after military patrols left the area, indicating a significant security lapse.

In Oyo State, gunmen invaded Ahoru High School in Esinel Oriir Local Government Area, abducting an unspecified number of students and injuring several others, including a teacher who was reportedly shot during the attack. The Oyo State Police Command, led by CSP Olayinka Ayanlad, has launched operations to assess the situation and recover the abducted individuals.

The incidents have heightened fears regarding the security of rural communities, particularly schools.
