Gunmen Kill Teacher, Abduct Principal and Students in Oyo

On a Friday morning, between 8 AM and 9 AM, gunmen raided schools in Ahoru Esinl Community, Oyo State, resulting in the tragic death of a teacher and the abduction of a principal along with several students from a secondary school. The attack also affected the neighboring Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (OYOSUBEB) primary school.

Nureni Adeniran, the Executive Chairman of OYOSUBEB, confirmed the incident and stated that the exact number of abducted pupils has yet to be ascertained. In response to the attack, OYOSUBEB has temporarily closed the affected schools to ensure the safety of students and staff.

Adeniran emphasized the importance of maintaining calm within the community and urged parents to cooperate with security agencies. He also expressed condolences to the family of the deceased teacher, whose life was tragically cut short, and reassured the community that safety remains a top priority.
