Supreme Court Reserves Judgment in ADC Leadership Dispute

The Supreme Court of Nigeria has reserved judgment on an appeal concerning the leadership dispute within the African Democratic Congress (ADC), involving David Mark. The appeal challenges a lower court's ruling that it lacked jurisdiction to intervene in the internal affairs of the ADC.

A five-member panel led by Justice Garba heard arguments from Jibrin Okutepa, representing Mark, who urged the court to allow the appeal, while Robert Emukpero, representing Hon. Nafiu Gombe, requested the court to reject it.

The appeal follows a previous decision by the Court of Appeal, which dismissed Mark's challenge as premature and returned the matter for expedited hearing. The Supreme Court's judgment date will be communicated later, as the court aims to resolve the leadership issue within the ADC, which has seen Mark's leadership recognized pending the resolution of the authentic leadership claims.
