Laide Bakare: Marriage Isn't a Measure of Happiness

Laide Bakare, a well-known Nollywood actress, shared her thoughts on marriage during an interview on the "Real Live" podcast hosted by Ayo Adesanya. Bakare articulated her belief that marriage should not be viewed as a measure of happiness.

She noted that she does not fear being alone and does not rule out the possibility of future relationships despite past failures. Bakare acknowledged that while her religion does not support women marrying multiple times, she emphasized that remaining in an unhappy marriage is not a viable option.

She dismissed concerns about loneliness, stating that her experiences have shown her that marriage is not the only path to happiness. Bakare highlighted that personal fulfillment and peace of mind are more important than marital status, reinforcing her stance that happiness can exist outside of marriage.
