Giants of Africa Unveils New Basketball Courts in Sierra Leone, Guinea

On April 16, 2023, Masai Ujiri's Giants of Africa unveiled its 47th basketball court at the Murialdo Institute of Entrepreneurship and Technology Management in Kissi, Freetown, Sierra Leone. This event highlighted the organization's commitment to gender equity and long-term community impact, coinciding with a women's coach clinic attended by notable figures including Augusta Jame Teima, Sierra Leone's Minister of Sports, and Amara Babila Keita, President of the Sierra Leone Basketball Federation.

The 48th court was subsequently unveiled at the Dribble Peace University in Conakri, Guinea, following another women's coach clinic. The initiative is part of Giants of Africa's goal to build 100 community basketball courts across the continent by 2026, with a focus on regions facing economic hardship and instability.

Ujiri expressed personal significance in this milestone, reflecting on his roots and the hope these courts will inspire youth to dream big.
