Alhaji Ibrahim Kabir Masari, the Special Adviser to the President on Political and Other Matters, has launched a free eye care initiative targeting 2,000 residents in Kafur and Malumfashi, Katsina State. This humanitarian program will provide free medical screenings, treatments, prescription glasses, and eye surgeries for individuals suffering from various eye-related conditions.

Engr. Abdullahi Ramat, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, stated that experienced medical professionals and eye-care specialists will be involved in the initiative. The first phase will take place at Kafur General Hospital on Saturday, August 29, 2026, followed by Malumfashi General Hospital on Sunday, August 30, 2026, with activities starting at 9:00 a.m.

Beneficiaries will receive free medication, glasses, and surgeries, including the modern Phacoemulsification technique for cataract treatment. Those needing further specialized care will be referred to appropriate hospitals.

Additionally, patients undergoing surgery will receive humanitarian support items.
