Mastercard Appoints Yasemin Bedir as EEMEA President
Mastercard has appointed Yasemin Bedir as President of its Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa (EEMEA) region, effective September 1. Bedir, who has nearly 20 years of experience with Mastercard, will also join the company’s Management Committee.
She succeeds Dimitrios Dosis, who was appointed Chief Commercial Payments Officer. Based in the UAE, Bedir will manage Mastercard’s strategy and operations across 81 countries in the EEMEA region, collaborating with retailers, fintechs, financial institutions, governments, and businesses to foster growth and innovation.
Sachin Mehra, Mastercard's Chief Business Officer, praised Bedir as an accomplished leader with a proven track record. Prior to this role, Bedir served as Division President for Eastern Europe for four years, enhancing Mastercard’s market position amid complex geopolitical and regulatory challenges.
She joined Mastercard in 2007 and has held various leadership roles, including General Manager for Turkey and Azerbaijan. Earlier in her career, she worked with HSBC, Garanti Bank, and Yapı Kredi in Turkey.
