Matawalle Urges Military to Intensify Counter-Terrorism Efforts

Bello Matawalle, the Minister of State for Defence, consoled victims of recent terrorist attacks in Zamfara State, particularly in Bungudu Local Government Area. In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Ahmad Dan-Wudil, on Sunday, Matawalle reaffirmed the Federal Government's commitment to restoring peace and security in the North-West.

He directed the leadership of Operation Fansan Yamma to maintain their offensive against terrorists in collaboration with other security agencies. Matawalle instructed military formations across Zamfara, Kebbi, Katsina, Sokoto, and Kaduna states to intensify operations using lawful measures to eliminate terrorist activities.

He appealed to traditional rulers and community leaders for support in providing intelligence on individuals aiding terrorists. Additionally, he urged senior military commanders to enhance surveillance and patrols to identify and dismantle terrorist hideouts.

Matawalle commended the Armed Forces for their recent successes in neutralizing terrorists and encouraged them to sustain pressure until terrorism is eradicated.
