Matawalle: Only God Can End Nigeria's Insecurity Crisis

Bello Matawalle, the Governor of Zamfara State, expressed that only divine intervention can resolve Nigeria's ongoing insecurity issues. In an interview with BBC Hausa, he highlighted recent incidents, including the abduction of 39 students and seven teachers in Oyo State and 42 pupils in Borno State.

Matawalle called for collective efforts from both security agencies and citizens to overcome these challenges. He urged Nigerians to support security forces and warned politicians against exploiting the insecurity for political gain, stating that it is disheartening to see some opposition members appear indifferent to the plight of the people.

He emphasized that insecurity affects everyone, regardless of political affiliation or religion. Matawalle reassured that security operations are working tirelessly to address the threats posed by terrorists, countering misleading narratives circulating on social media regarding past administrations.

He noted that insecurity is a global issue and requires sustained efforts to combat.
