Mbappe Becomes World Cup's All-Time Top Scorer with 22 Goals

Kylian Mbappe, the 27-year-old French striker, became the World Cup's all-time leading scorer with 22 goals after scoring twice in the third-place match against England on Saturday. This achievement allowed him to leapfrog Argentina's Lionel Messi, who has 21 goals.

Although Messi is set to play in the final against Spain, Mbappe's record is now established. He finished the tournament with a total of 10 goals, securing the Golden Boot, two goals ahead of Messi.

Mbappe's World Cup journey included scoring four goals in 2018 and eight in 2022. France reached the final in 2018, defeating Croatia, but lost to Argentina four years later.

Mbappe expressed that while scoring many goals at the World Cup places him in a certain category, he prefers not to focus on being the top scorer, emphasizing the importance of team success.
