In a friendly match held at Gillett Stadium on March 26, Kylian Mbappé scored in the 32nd minute, marking his 56th goal in 95 appearances for France. This goal brings him one goal away from equalling the national scoring record held by Olivier Giroud, who also scored in the match.

The 27-year-old striker made his debut on March 18, 2017, against Brazil. Despite a knee injury that forced him to be replaced by Marcus Thuram in the 66th minute, Mbappé's performance was pivotal.
