MDCN Inducts 250 Foreign-Trained Doctors and Dentists

On Tuesday, the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) inducted 250 foreign-trained medical and dental graduates who successfully passed its June 2026 Assessment Examination, allowing them to practice in Nigeria. The induction ceremony took place in Abuja and included 238 medical doctors and 12 dental surgeons.

Prof. Fatima Kyari, the Registrar of MDCN, congratulated the inductees and urged them to uphold the ethics and professionalism expected of medical practitioners.

She emphasized that the induction marks a commitment to quality healthcare and compassionate service. Prof.

Muhammad Pate, the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, represented by Dr. Gloria Uzoigwe, also congratulated the graduates, highlighting the government's commitment to enhancing Nigeria's health workforce.

Guest speaker Mr. Olusegun Adeniyi addressed the impact of social media and AI on healthcare, urging responsible use of technology.
