103 Nigerian Dentists Inducted as International Fellows

On Tuesday, 103 Nigerian dental professionals were inducted as Fellows of the International College of Dentists (ICD) at the University of Benin (UNIBEN), Edo State. The induction ceremony was supervised by Prof Gbemisola Oke, the Regent of ICD for the West Africa Sub-region, and was part of the 50th anniversary and alumni reunion of the UNIBEN School of Dentistry.

Notable inductees included Dr Elias Emedom, President of the Nigerian Dental Association, and several distinguished professors and dentists. Honorary fellows included Prof Edoba Omoregie (SAN), Vice-Chancellor of UNIBEN, and other prominent academics.

The FCID is awarded to dentists who have made significant contributions to their profession or communities. During the event, Prof Omoregie emphasized the School of Dentistry's commitment to producing skilled dental personnel to meet Nigeria's oral health needs.

The Dean, Prof Joan Enabulele, outlined future plans for a new clinical dentistry complex to enhance training and patient care.
