Daily Times CEO Highlights Media's Role in Nigeria's Growth

Fide Anosik, the Chief Executive Officer of Daily Times Nigeria PLC, stated that the media plays a central role in shaping Nigeria's development during a press conference in Abuja to commemorate the newspaper's 100th anniversary. Anosik described the centenary as a significant milestone in the Nigerian media industry, tracing the legacy of the Daily Times back to its establishment in 1926.

He noted that the newspaper was instrumental in the nationalist movement that led to Nigeria's independence and has provided a platform for public opinion. Anosik emphasized that the Daily Times is not merely a newspaper company but a broader institution contributing to nation-building.

He acknowledged the challenges faced by the organization but expressed a commitment to preserving its legacy. Grace Ik, the former chairman of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, underscored the newspaper's long-standing impact on journalism and public opinion in Nigeria.

The event also featured remarks from Azubuik Ishiekwen and former staff member Toni Amokeodo, who recognized the Daily Times' historical significance.
