Musiala's Collapses Linked to Medication Change, Says Coach

Bayern Munich midfielder Jamal Musiala experienced collapses during pre-season matches against RB Leipzig and Heidenheim, linked to a change in his medication for a neurological dysfunction that causes temporary seizures. Head coach Vincent Kompany stated that Musiala had made a slight adjustment to his treatment, resulting in side effects, and emphasized that the club had been aware of Musiala's condition for some time.

Bayern sporting director Max Eberl confirmed that the club and players have supported Musiala throughout the previous season. Musiala has been ruled out of the German Supercup against Borussia Dortmund, alongside teammates Lennard Maloney and Serge Gnabry.

He will train individually while the club works to revert his treatment plan. Medical experts note that absence seizures can lead to temporary loss of awareness and balance, but with effective treatment, athletes can continue to participate in sports.

Musiala remains a key player for Bayern, having scored 69 goals and provided 37 assists for the club.
