Nigeria's Super Eagles Introduce New Players for Friendlies

The Nigerian national football team has announced the inclusion of new players Otel and Fernandez for their upcoming friendly matches against the Iran national football team on March 27 and the Jordan national football team four days later. Otel, a 26-year-old winger born in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, recently joined Hamburg SV from FC Basel during the winter transfer window.

He was previously part of Nigeria's provisional squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. Otel has demonstrated his potential in friendly matches, aiming for a competitive debut.

Fernandez, a 24-year-old central defender, joined Rangers FC from Peterborough United for a reported £2.9 million deal and has quickly become an important figure, making 26 appearances and scoring six goals this season. Both players are expected to strengthen the Super Eagles' lineup, with Fernandez wearing the number 37 shirt in honor of his brother.
