Islamic Movement of Nigeria Rejects Terrorism Allegations

The Islamic Movement of Nigeria, represented by President Ammar Muhammad, issued a strong condemnation of allegations made by Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria, Michael Freeman. Freeman accused the movement of being sponsored by Iran and linked to terrorism, claims the group described as false and provocative.

They argued that such accusations could incite tension among Muslim communities and insisted that the movement's aim is to advocate for justice and support oppressed peoples globally. The statement highlighted that the movement has never been convicted of terrorism or violent activities in its five-decade history.

The group criticized Israel's military actions in Gaza, which have faced international condemnation for alleged war crimes, and called for Nigerians to disregard unfounded allegations that could sow division among citizens. Additionally, security was tightened in Kaduna following rumors of planned demonstrations during Friday prayers.
