Military Pension Board to retirees: Direct your concerns through official channels

The Military Pension Board (MPB) has urged retirees to direct their concerns through official channels, clarifying that payment of gratuity falls within its purview. The board addressed the issue after hundreds of retirees took to the streets last week to protest unpaid entitlements, including Security Debarment Allowance and Packing Allowance.

MPB spokesman Aliyu Mohammed stated that the retirees engaged in a roundtable discussion with the board, led by Chairman Abubakar Adamu, to address the matter. The board explained that the calculation of gratuity for voluntary retirees is within its mandate and assured that concerns raised will be promptly and transparently addressed.

The MPB encouraged retirees to continue using official communication platforms to raise issues, emphasizing its commitment to proactive leadership and transparency in dealing with retiree concerns.
