NLC Vows to Fight for Comprehensive Minimum Wage Review

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), under the leadership of President Joe Ajaero, has announced its preparedness for a major national struggle focused on the comprehensive review of the national minimum wage. During an event in Abuja, Ajaero stated that the NLC will no longer accept discussions about worker welfare that do not include complete benefits for all years of service.

He urged Nigerian workers to prepare for an ideological and economic battle ahead. The NLC's commitment to prioritizing worker welfare was reiterated, alongside its affiliation with the Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP).

The NLC's stance indicates a significant shift in its approach to labor negotiations, emphasizing that welfare discussions must be holistic and inclusive of all service years.
