Minister Disowns Unauthorized Adviser Appointments

Dr. Mahmoud, the Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), issued a statement disowning Mr.

Bin Usman Rano, who reportedly appointed seven advisers without official authorization. The statement, released by Austin Elemu, the minister's special assistant on media, clarified that Rano's actions were not connected to the minister's office or the FCTA.

The appointments included advisers for media, protocol, student affairs, youth sports, religious affairs, and special duties. Dr.

Mahmoud emphasized that Rano's announcement was strictly related to a political support group backing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf ahead of the 2027 general elections. The minister urged the public and media organizations to rely on official channels for information regarding his office's activities and reaffirmed his commitment to transparency and accountability in discharging his duties.
