Minister Adelabu Resigns to Pursue Oyo Governorship

Adelabu Adebayo, the Minister of Power, has formally resigned from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's cabinet, announcing his intention to run for the governorship of Oyo State. In his resignation letter addressed to President Tinubu, Adebayo expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and thanked the President for the trust placed in him.

His resignation comes shortly after that of Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, who is also pursuing a governorship position, specifically in Bauchi State, ahead of the 2027 elections. Sources indicate that Tuggar plans to contest the Bauchi governorship election under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
