Tinubu Nominates Joseph Tegb as New Minister of Power

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially nominated Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegb as the new Minister of Power, as announced in a statement on Thursday by Tinubu's special adviser on strategic communications, Bayo Onanuga. This nomination follows the resignation of former Minister Adebayo Adelabu, who stepped down to pursue an electoral office.

Joseph Tegb, who hails from Oyo State, is recognized as a fiscal and economic reform expert with 35 years of experience across both public and private sectors. He has previously served as a senior partner and head of advisory services at KPMG Africa, where he led various initiatives in fiscal policy reform.

His experience includes significant engagement within the power sector, particularly in regulatory institutional reform involving the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) and the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Company (NBET). The nomination has been transmitted to the Senate for screening and confirmation, in accordance with constitutional requirements.
