MLS Investigates Inter Miami Over Casemiro Signing

Major League Soccer (MLS) has initiated an investigation into Inter Miami regarding allegations of tampering following the club's signing of Brazilian midfielder Casemiro. Inter Miami announced on Wednesday that the 34-year-old had joined the club on a contract running until the end of the 2027 MLS season, with an option to extend until June 2029.

Shortly after the announcement, MLS confirmed it was reviewing a tampering allegation related to the transfer, specifically concerning Casemiro's discovery rights, which give a club the first opportunity to negotiate with a player. Los Angeles Galaxy held these rights for Casemiro, but Inter Miami stated it acquired them from the Galaxy before finalizing the signing.

MLS indicated that the terms of the agreement between the two clubs would be disclosed after the investigation concludes. Casemiro left Manchester United at the end of last season after both parties agreed not to renew his contract.

During his tenure at Old Trafford, he made 160 appearances, scored 26 goals, and won the EFL Cup and FA Cup.
