MMA2 Celebrates 19 Years Amid Concession Resolutions

Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal Two (MMA2) marked its 19th anniversary on May 7, celebrating its status as a landmark in Nigerian aviation. The terminal, which has operated for 18 years, is recognized for revolutionizing the industry despite challenges.

Dr. Wale Babalakin, SAN, the Group Chairman of Resort Group, has played a crucial role in maintaining the terminal's operations, even writing off a N132 billion judgment debt owed to the Federal Government.

Mr. Festus Keyamo, SAN, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, confirmed that the government has resolved issues surrounding the terminal's concession, allowing for further development.

The government approved a term agreement with Babalakin to address these concerns. MMA2 has been a significant public-private partnership project in Nigeria, with plans for expansion and investment of N600 million to enhance its facilities.

The terminal's continued success is attributed to the dedication of its staff and Babalakin's commitment to ensuring a seamless travel experience.
