Mob Attack: Kwara Gov’t Vows To Bring Perpetrators To Justice

The Kwara State government has vowed to bring the perpetrators of a mob attack to justice after a woman, Khadijah, was mistakenly identified as a kidnapper and beaten to death in the Ipata Market area of Ilorin. The woman, who was later identified as a destitute by the police, succumbed to her injuries at the General Hospital in Ilorin.

The government condemned the act of jungle justice, describing it as barbaric and uncivilized. The Commissioner for Social Development, Dr.

Mariam Nnfatima Imam, emphasized the government's commitment to protecting the rights of all residents and warned against taking the law into one's own hands. The family of the victim has demanded justice, stating that the deceased had been battling severe mental illness for a decade.

The government is working with law enforcement agencies to bring the perpetrators to justice and has urged residents to provide any necessary information to address security challenges.
