Kwara Govt Denies DSS Disarming Vigilantes in Oke-Ode Attack, Joint Operation Neutralizes Terrorists

The Kwara State Government refutes claims that the Department of State Services (DSS) disarmed local vigilantes during a deadly bandit attack in Oke-Ode. Gunmen killed 12 people, abducted several, and injured many in the Ifelodun Local Government Area.

A video showed a woman accusing the DSS of stripping the vigilantes of their weapons, leaving residents vulnerable. The Chief Press Secretary to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, Rafiu Ajakaye, labeled the allegations false, stating the DSS did not disarm the vigilantes.

The government sympathizes with the victims and is working to restore peace. Meanwhile, a joint operation by the DSS and Nigerian Army reportedly neutralized several terrorists along the border, including a notorious bandit leader.
