Mob Beats Suspected Robber to Death in Calabar, Three Arrested in Connection

In Calabar, Cross River State, a mob beat a suspected robber to death in the Abangasang area. The Cross River State Police Command arrested three suspects linked to the mob killing.

The incident occurred when the deceased allegedly attempted to rob a woman, leading to the angry mob attacking and beating the suspect to death. The police recovered a Beretta pistol and live ammunition at the scene.

The victim was rushed to the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital but was pronounced dead. The police have the three suspects in custody for ongoing investigations.

The command strongly condemns mob action and stresses zero tolerance for violent crime, urging the public to cooperate with the police.
