Police Arrest Three Suspects Over Killing of Robber in Calabar

The Cross River State Police Command's anti-kidnap unit successfully prevented a mob action against a suspected armed robber in Calabar. The suspect, who allegedly tried to rob a woman in the Abangasang area on Mbora Street, was beaten unconscious by an angry mob and later pronounced dead at the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital.

Three suspects involved in the mob attack are currently in police custody to assist in ongoing investigations. The police recovered a Beretta pistol and arrested the individuals connected to the incident.

CP Rashid Afegbua emphasized the commitment of the police to preventing crime, protecting lives, and upholding the rule of law, condemning mob actions and urging the public to allow the police to conduct proper investigations and prosecute suspects.
