Mob Lynches Two Suspected Thieves in Niger State

On Sunday, an irate mob in the Nasko area of Niger State lynched two suspected thieves who were reportedly caught trying to steal a motorcycle from a commercial motorcyclist. Following the incident, the Force Public Relations Officer, Ani Iniedu, stated that police operatives responded to the mob action.

The remains of the deceased were recovered and deposited at the General Hospital in Nasko. An investigation is currently underway to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and to identify those involved in the lynching.

The case is being handled by the State Criminal Investigation Department in Minna. This incident highlights ongoing issues related to mob justice in Nigeria, where communities sometimes take the law into their own hands in response to crime.
