Luka Modric to Continue Croatia Career at 41

Luka Modric, the captain of the Croatian national football team and midfielder for AC Milan, will extend his international career at the age of 41. The Croatia Football Association announced on Saturday that Modric intends to remain available for upcoming Nations League matches.

Initially expected to retire after Croatia's World Cup campaign, Modric's decision comes with the return of Slaven Bilic as Croatia's manager, who previously coached the team from 2006 to 2012. Modric has made 202 appearances for Croatia, becoming the most-capped player in the nation's history and playing a pivotal role in their successes, including reaching the 2018 World Cup final and finishing third in the 2022 tournament.

Bilic expressed his happiness regarding Modric's decision, emphasizing the midfielder's contributions on and off the pitch. Croatia's upcoming Nations League fixtures include matches against the Czech Republic on September 26, Spain on September 29, and England on October 3, with a return fixture at Wembley on November 12.
