Mohbad's Father Seeks DNA Case Transfer to Ekiti State

Joseph Aloba, the father of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad, has announced plans to request the transfer of the ongoing DNA investigation concerning his son’s death from Lagos to Ekiti State. In a video statement, Aloba expressed concerns about alleged interference in the forensic process and claimed that the facilities in Lagos lack the necessary capacity to conduct a proper post-mortem analysis.

His legal team has raised objections to the suitability of the laboratories proposed for the DNA test, accusing certain interests of attempting to obstruct the resolution of the case. Aloba emphasized the importance of conducting the DNA test, which is crucial for the burial of his son, who passed away in September 2023.

Mohbad's death has drawn widespread attention and calls for justice, leading to the exhumation of his body for an autopsy before his reburial.
