Civil Society Accuses Sujimoto of Fraud in Enugu State School Project Scandal

Sujimoto faces allegations of fraud from a civil society coalition, accusing Sijibomi Ogundele's Luxury Construction Ltd of malpractice in a contract with the Enugu state government. The Global Gender Safety Moral Development (GGSMD) coalition claims that Sujimoto received ₦1 billion as part payment for a ₦2 billion project to construct 22 smart schools, which were left unfinished.

The contract, awarded in July 2024, required completion by September 2025, with the government paying 50% upfront. The coalition alleges substandard work and the disappearance of funds, leading to failed attempts to engage Sujimoto in project discussions.

The accusations highlight concerns over accountability and quality in public projects.
