Achraf Hakimi to Stand Trial for Rape Allegations

Achraf Hakimi, a Moroccan football star and right back for Paris Saint-Germain, will face trial for rape after a French appeal court confirmed the decision. The case stems from allegations made by a 24-year-old woman who reported to police in Val-de-Marne, southeast Paris, that Hakimi had kissed and touched her without consent in January 2023.

The woman, referred to by the pseudonym Jeann, expressed her desire to defend herself and be heard in court. Hakimi's lawyer, Fanni Colin, stated that he remains steadfast in his defense and has denied any wrongdoing.

The trial date has not yet been announced, but it is expected to take place in the criminal court of Hauts-de-Seine. The plaintiff's lawyer, Rachel Flore Pardo, indicated that the decision to proceed with the trial has brought relief to her client, who hopes to explain her side of the story.
