Moroccan Team Reaches CAF Champions League Final After 41 Years

The Moroccan team has advanced to the CAF Champions League final for the first time in 41 years, marking a significant achievement since their last appearance in 1985. In the semi-final, they faced local rivals Berkan, winning the second leg 1-0 on Saturday night, which was not enough to overcome Berkan's 2-0 victory in the first leg.

The decisive goal came in the 57th minute from a penalty awarded for a foul on Paul Bass, converted by Yassin Lebhiri. Despite their lead, the Moroccan champions could not secure a second goal, which would have avoided extra time, but were saved by crucial interventions from goalkeeper Reda Tagnaouti.

This marks the first time the Moroccan team has participated in this competition at this level. They will now face South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns in a two-leg final, with the first leg scheduled for May 15 and the second leg in Morocco the following week.
