Morocco Federation to Challenge AFCON 2025 Sanctions

The Moroccan Football Federation announced its intention to challenge the disciplinary sanctions imposed by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) after Morocco's 1-0 loss to Senegal in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 final, which took place on January 18. Following a special session convened on Thursday, the federation reviewed the events surrounding the final and deemed the sanctions as unjust penalties.

They expressed that the disciplinary action taken against Morocco was lenient towards Senegal. The federation is committed to pursuing legal remedies through appropriate channels to protect the integrity of football regulations and ensure a fair disciplinary process.

The statement emphasized that legal proceedings related to the final are already ongoing, and the federation maintains that CAF's disciplinary committee's decision is unfair to the Moroccan national team.
