Akpabio Praises Tinubu's Economic Reforms in Abuja

During a public engagement in Abuja, Godswill Akpabio, the Senate President, commended President Bola Tinubu for his economic reforms, specifically highlighting the removal of fuel subsidies and the introduction of new tax policies. Akpabio noted that the current administration has significantly increased the funds available to state governments, stating that governors now collect four times what he received during his time as governor of Akwa Ibom State.

He emphasized that these reforms have strengthened revenue inflow to states and created financial room for development projects. Akpabio also addressed criticisms regarding the Senate's role, asserting that it thoroughly scrutinizes government submissions to ensure they serve the best interests of Nigerians.

He expressed confidence in the administration's economic direction and encouraged accountability at the state level to address infrastructure, health, and education needs.
